Painted live in front of an audience during a Totemo Live Auction in partnership with GMO Internet Group in Tokyo, Imagination embodies Kuua's instinctive, performance-driven process. Executed in real time, the work captures the tension between control and spontaneity—where each mark becomes both a decision and a reaction to the moment.

A pink-haired figure emerges from a dark, flame-like backdrop, her expression suspended between vulnerability and defiance. The soft palette and delicate styling contrast with sharper elements—spikes, bandages, and restrained gestures—reflecting Kuua's ongoing exploration of duality: innocence and distortion, fantasy and discomfort.

Built through layered linework and tonal washes, the composition prioritizes emotional clarity over realism. The live setting amplifies this effect—the visible immediacy of the strokes preserving the energy of the audience, the environment, and the artist's internal state at the time of creation.

For Kuua, drawing is a way to construct an idealized inner world. In Imagination, that world takes form as both escape and confrontation—where identity is shaped through what is desired, feared, and felt all at once.
